Ziplining in Kauai - my first time ever!

Last month while on vacation on the island of Kauai (Hawaii) Nick & I went ziplining. First time for both of us.

It was an amazing experience! To be honest, I was a bit hesitant/anxious because I'm not really an adrenaline junkie. But my friend (Frank in San Francisco's Inn at the Presidio) who recommended Skyline Poipu was right - this is as much of a relaxing/zen experience as it is exhilarating.

The scenery in Poipu, Kauai, was breathtaking. Flying over the lush greenery with ocean views was an extraordinary experience.
Our guides Mike and Lowen were very nice and made us feel really comfortable. They knew it was our first time as on the van ride from the Skyline headquarters I told them how nervous I was. And not only because Jurassic Park was filmed here and I was scared of a dinosaur jumping up and plucking me right off that zipline :) I normally don't like anything, really - anything! - involving speed or heights, but ziplining has proven to be a very special exception. I am very glad I tried it because not only I conquered a fear, I also enjoyed it tremendously. I want to do it again! Nick does too.

Nick & I were in a small group of other tourists who were all very nice people. We got to the shop at 8:30am, checked in, signed waivers, put on harnessed, took the van ride (15 mins) to the location and spent 1.5 hrs ziplining.

The whole experience was incredible. I highly recommend this place and I hope I'll be back to do this again!!

Disclosure: Nick & I were given complimentary passes for this amazing adventure. Afterwards, we tipped our guides and bought merchandise (because we loved it so much) at the Skyline Eco-Adventures shop. All opinions and photos/videos are our own. I honestly loved this experience. I wouldn't post about it otherwise.
