We just found out that the music video for "You Make Me Beautiful" has just been nominated as well! The HMMAs take place Nov 18, 2010 in Hollywood at the Kodak Theatre complex.

last year I co-wrote the theme song for FALLEN IDOL: THE YURI GAGARIN
CONSPIRACY, a great documentary! It has just been reviewed by a top
L.A. Times film critic (see below).

"Fallen Idol: The Yuri Gagarin Conspiracy." MPAA rating: Unrated. Running time: 1 hour, 30 minutes. At Laemmle's Monica 4-Plex, Santa Monica.
Was he
really the first in space? - "Fallen Idol: The Yuri Gagarin
Conspiracy" takes itself very seriously, which sometimes makes this
documentary feel as propaganda-driven as the former Soviet spin
machine it decrie. Still, the film, directed with a heavy hand by
Denny Hooten and Sam Oldham, presents a persuasive enough case that
Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gargarin was not -- as history has written --
the first man in outer space but a victim of what a political analyst
here calls "probably one of the biggest cover-ups and conspiracies in
history." Gagarin became a Soviet national hero after orbiting the
Earth in April 1961. But what the Kremlin (along with, the movie
contends, the KGB, the U.S. Air Force and the CIA) allegedly
suppressed was that five days earlier, another Soviet cosmonaut was
launched into space only to crash-land and suffer severe injuries.
Failure was not an option -- at least publicly -- for the secretive

hi guys :) I'm back from
months of touring (no swine flu so far, whew!!)!! Last week I was in my
beautiful hometown, Moscow, where I got to perform on American soil (US
Embassy!!!) and hang out with my schoolfriends!! I missed my
imaginary cat, so it's good to be
back home now .. oh wait, I'm driving to Vegas tomorrow... but after that,
I'm really at home for a whole month!! Magical place called
Hollywood where you can meet Ron Jeremy at any given moment! :) haha..
anyway.
I'm recording in the studio right now, so exciting!!! (more at

I just came back from Moscow where I performed at the world-famous
Hard Rock Cafe on Arbat Street and even pulled the winning entry for
the "Hard Rock Calling" contest!!! It was so much fun!
Then I also performed at the US Embassy!

Russian Cultural House (at the Russian Embassy) in Washington, DC, in
December and January! The mission of the Russian Cultural House is to
improve Russian-American relations. Marina is very honored to be a
guest performer there! It's technically Russian soil, so you can drink
alcohol if you're under 21 :)

I recently stopped by Colfax Elementary in Los
Angeles, CA, to sing a couple of songs for kids - it was so much fun!
The kids showed me their little farm where they have a pig, chickens,
sheep, and other fun animals!! I hope the kids had as great a time as
I did!

Last month in my newsletter I mentioned that I had
lost my favorite necklace which I bought in Paris for only 10 euros -
but it was very cute & I wore it every day. The next day I got an
email from a very sweet person who offered to make me a new,
custom-made necklace - with my signature flower on it!! I got it
in the mail last week, and it's absolutely wonderful. I simply can't
believe how nice it was of Tim (the owner of this fine-crafted jewelry
company) to do this. I'm just blown away!!

Today
I attended the screening of "FALLEN IDOL: THE YURI
GAGARIN CONSPIRACY" in Hollywood.
I co-wrote the theme song (Gagarin March) with composer David Raiklen. I also helped
conduct the choir during the recording of the march and I also sang some ethereal vocals for another song
in the film.I am very excited to be a part of this project!

I recently joined SESAC, a performing rights organization with headquarters in Nashville and offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London. Very exciting! www.sesac.com
3 of my songs have been licensed to Facebook Diaries, the Actual Reality TV/Comcast/Facebook.com project!
3 of my songs have been licensed to a very cool independent film by Ron Garrett, portraying the life of a few homeless people in Santa Monica. "There But For The Grace of God" is a really moving documentary. Will let you know more info soon!
I co-wrote the theme song (a march) with David Raiklen for the upcoming documentary about Yuri Gagarin (the first man in space), which will hit the theatres in the spring. It's narrated by the wonderful actor, Elliott Gould and directed by Dr. Elliott Haimoff.
I just found out that I will be performing at the NACA Nationals showcase in St Louis in February 2008. It's a big honor to be chosen to perform at NACA Nationals, as hundreds upon hundreds of artists submit each year and only a few get chosen. Many thanks to my college booking agency, Degy Entertainment.
