Marina has a unique musical style... very hypnotic, with the ability to transport the listener anywhere she wishes to take them! ~ James Leach, VP, SESAC

Congratulations on your new album ....it is fabulous. Songs and singing are delightful. You are doing a great job showing the way with your business model for independent artists. Onwards and Upwards! ~ Howard Jones, multi-platinum recording artist

I really like Marina V's "You Make Me Beautiful".  Memorable melodies!! ~ Billy Steinberg, hit songwriter (penned Madonna's "Like a Virgin", JoJo's "A little too late", Cyndie Lauper's "True Colors", and many, many more)

My dear Marina, Your talent made quite an impression on me. You are truly exceptionally gifted. Out of five years doing sound at 1st Friday you are the first act that I would go to see. Thanks again and i do hope to cross paths again! ~ Danny, sound for First Fridays in Las Vegas, NV

Marina & Nick, WOW, I am so amazed by MY STAR, It's Brilliant! I really think this is "THE ONE"!!!! You guys did an AWESOME job!! "Tonkaya Ryabina" tops my list as a favorite. It is so raw & powerful and, of course, it absolutely showcases Marina's stunning vocal abilities. And this is the very first Marina V song I had ever heard, so it's extra special for me. "Blue for you" is definitely my next favorite on the album. Everything is perfect about this song! A super sweet ballad...beautifully produced...heart felt lyrics...LOVE IT! I could listen to it over and over again . Wow, "The weight of the world", so deep, so meaningful, very true and so gorgeous....Love it! The album Version of "Thursday song" really sounds so terrific...the best ever! "Magical Christmas" has a wonderful jazzy sound, which I must say I really like. It's a very different sound for Marina, but so smooth...I'd like to hear more! Then of course there is the title song "my star", and "You make me beautiful", an awesome Guns n' Roses cover and some new old favorites. I just really can't say enough good things about this new album. Marina's style and range really shines through from the sweet mellow hippie love child of Tori Amos & The Beatles raised in Russia by Tchaikovsky to the pop punk rock diva she has hiding inside . This album is the complete package! You did an outstanding job & I wish you the very best of luck with "My Star".

Tom from Irvine, CA
I have enjoyed listening to all of your CDs which I have shared with many friends. I believe that "My Star" is your best work yet and will catapult you to an even greater level of success. I shall look forward to seeing my prediction come to reality in the very near future!

Winifred from Malibu, CA
Lovely Marina!!  Wonderful.  Sounds great.  You have a totally "You" quality to your voice. It's
soothing.  Awesome.  Thanks again.

Chris from UK
I love the tracks, and I think that they are the best recordings to date.

Randy from Las Vegas
Okay Marina here's what I really think! Drumroll...................I have been listening to your songs for a few years now and I have listened to you grow as an artist. "My Star" actually made my body tingle a little when I heard it and that's how good a song I think it is! You have really done and excellent job! :)
If you can get that one on iTunes, ring tones, soap operas, movies, TV I think you will be very happy with the results.

Erik from Redondo Beach
Hi Marina, I'm listening to your album as I type. Beautiful beautiful beautiful music, my dear friend.   I always lose myself in your music, so passionate.   I LOVE your album!! Your hard work has paid off so well.   Next step: rich and famous! :o)  I love what you create, I love that you create.

Jim from Canada
There is not a song that I don't like (unusual on most commercial CD's). My favorite song is "You Make Me Beautiful" but then I have loved that song from the first time I heard it. Even though I don't understand a word of it, I really like "Tonkaya Ryabina". They do say that music is the language of the soul and you are certainly a beautiful soul. May all you wish for come wrapped in rainbows sprinkled with stardust!

Kevin from Indiana
Listened to it and love it!

Jason from Fresno, CA
it's a great, great album! I keep listening to it over and over!

Roman from Hollywood, CA
My early favorite (excluding You Make Me Beautiful) is the title track...My Star just sort of reaches out and grabs me, making me stop
to listen, regardless of what I'm doing. You are awesome!!

Elina from Glendale, CA
it ROCKS! I LOVE the first song, Blue for You and the Don't Cry! Your voice is amazing! Thanks for sharing your beautiful music with me

Jimi from California
Great CD! Incredible production! Nice to have a world-class producer in your corner huh? :)   Your haunting, romantic style fits the current vampire craze so well the whole CD should be a soundtrack in itself!

J
I have downloaded it and am now listening  for the 2nd time. You and your music are so beautiful. My favorite track is "You Make Me Beautiful" which I have loved for sometime but there is not a track that I don't like. For me that is unusual. There are usually 2-3 tracks on an album that are really good, some more that are ok and then usually 1-2 that I just don't care for. Not this time, not this album. I love each and every track.

Laurent from Seattle:
So beautiful...   "My Star" is definitely Marina's Most Beautiful CD so far.

Mila from Norway:
i'm sitting here listening to the album ... again ...  it sounds amazing :)   both the storytelling in ur lyrics and the way the melodies lift the lyrics up into something u just have to listen to again and again, are so strong to me and i bet to all those who are so lucky to get to listen to them :)

Steve from UK:
Hey marina, I had to tell you that I popped into a store this morning on my way to work and they were playing unbalanced! At first i thought i was hearing things as i've been listening to your music a lot recently,
but it was really you! You are now officially global. Hope that makes you smile-it did me.

it was great to watch you sing ... what a beautiful voice you have. gave me goose bumps. thank you. ~ Ro, L.A.

Fantastic album. Everyone I've played it for has raved. I have found myself humming In My Head and If I Could Read Your Mind throughout the day. Marina's voice has never sounded better. As I said after the last one, can't wait for the next one. Keep 'em coming Marina. ~ Hoboken Al, Anaheim, CA

There really are no words that could truly convey the beauty of this CD, of Marina V.'s and Nick B.'s lyrics and music, and of Marina's breathtaking voice. It must be experienced to be believed. I haven't been this moved by music in many years. Guardian Angel will bring tears to your eyes, grab your heart with both hands, make you feel less alone in your darkest hours, then I'll Be Alright yanks you out of whatever funk ails you and powerfully motivates and energizes you to make your life better, and to DO IT. Those are just two examples; all the songs on this CD will move you to your core and evoke every emotion within you, dark and light. Killing My Dream, Ghost Wandering This Earth, Underneath Your Sky...the entire CD is amazing. ~ Susan, L.A.

Beautiful, inspiring, Marina's music is relaxing, upbeat, a must-have - This CD offers a little of everything, relaxing, beautiful music as well as upbeat music that inspires you to dance. It's a CD your entire family will enjoy, something moms in minivans can play while they drive their kids all the way from the elementary and middle school to the high school in the morning with no objections. ~ Enia, Mission Viejo, CA

Fabulous!! - This CD is wonderful. It is even better when you realize that she sat and wrote the words and the music. It is inspirational and personal. ~ Haley, MS

Beautiful...simply Beautiful.- This CD is Beautiful. Marina's voice and emotion shine wonderfully through her lyrics. I fell in love with her music when I first heard this album. I recomend this CD to everyone. ~ Kendal, Orange, CA

The Best CD You'll Find - Definitely loved her CD. Her voice, the lyrics, and the music were definitely the best I've heard for a long while. Marina is definitely talented and her voice is one of a kind, her songs are emotional and heartfelt. Songs I loved were Guardian Angel (sad song, but it truly just pulls you in when you hear it. The piano is really beautiful in this one), Underneath Your Sky (I love love songs, and this very much is one), and Ghost Wandering This Earth (I love the lyrics. It speaks to anyone who's been having a hard time. Plus the music and her voice are great in this one). So check out and buy this CD! ~ Katya, L.A.

fantastic! - When I listened to the CD the first time, I said "Oh, this is what I wanted!". She has a beautiful voice, and her lyrics are fabulous as well. I highly recommend you to buy this CD. It's definitely worth it. ~ Mitch, Pasadena, CA

This CD is beautiful! I can't stop listening! Every song moves my soul. Thank you, Marina, for this amazing music! ~ Ken

I own all of Marina V's CDs, and I can honestly say that this is the best one she's put out yet. The songs are fleshed out (longer than they've been in the past); the melodies and lyrics are strong; and her soulful voice is right on. Songs that stick out are: In My Head, Simple Magic, Guardian Angel, and When I Come Homeb

Awesome voice and talent - emotional sound and feel - Marina evokes a powerful and emotional sentiment throughout the CD - Killing My Dream will leave you haunted with her voice and soulful lyrics. Should be on the top of your daily playlist. ~ Fernando Gallegos

THANKYOU for the AMAZING CD that is Simple Magic. Your voice is absolutely sublime..and I know these are only words and pretty inadequate when trying to say how much i adore these songs and what a true GIFT this album is.
Every moment of music is BEAUTIFUl and heart-felt. It's PERFECTION all the way through. I can't even choose a favourite song...aside from killing my dream because it was the first one I heard. I KNOW that I will cherish these songs for a long time to come.
Ghost, UK

Thank you for that beautiful concert you had down by the beach. You made it such a wonderful experience and your performance matched the relaxing setting. Thank you so much for playing my request Guardian Angel. The first time I heard that song I immediately became a fan. I'll attend as many
concerts as I can in the future. One last thing...your new album is magnificient! Keep up the good work Marina.
Abraham, Long Beach

Dear Marina, I received your personally signed CD in the mail today - thank you very
much ! I've already listened to to most of the songs. My congratulations, excellent CD again ( I also own the previous one, "Something of my Own")
My mom also listened to a couple of songs and she said she liked it - I think that's a good sign as there's a lot of music she doesn't like...
Kind regards from sunny Belgium,
Patrick

Hi Marina,It was nice meeting you too. When I heard you playing, I had to stop and
listen. I ended up buying both of your cds. They are really good. I am sure your big break will come soon. I hope to come see one of your shows this week.
Take care, Michael, Pasadena

You're trying to keep me up all night again, aren't you! Hi Marina: your new CD arrived: brilliant - thanks so much. I was trying to decipher the writing you'd put on the front, but couldn't quite work it out... Love the CD (of course) listening to it all the time in the car just now. It's interesting hearing how your music is changing a bit - I wonder whether it's an American influence, a commercial influence, or what... I hope that what's best in your music (which is the unique Marina bit) never gets lost in the arrangements or the inputs from others.
Peter, UK

HELLO MARINA..CAUGHT YOU SINGING FROM NEW ALBUM....I LIKE VERY MUCH...IT SEEMS YOUR VOICE HAS GOTTEN EVEN BETTER....REALLY LIKE THE MUSIC.....
NOW DON'T GIVE UP YOU KEEP GOING...YOUR VOICE IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL.....TAKE CARE...AND GOD BLESS....SANDY

Hi, Marina-I purchased a copy of your recent CD release on the strength of how much the music in your prior CD resonated with me and the sublime performance you gave at Pasadena Borders a few weeks ago. By the way, I uploaded the music from your first CD onto my XBox video game console and now play back
your music on my custom soundtracks while playing my favorite XBox video games, especially an auto racing game called Project Gotham Racing 2. I don't know why, maybe its just the luck of the Russian (as opposed to the luck of the Irish) but your music always improves my game play. : ) Take care and please accept my best wishes for the continuing success of your career,
-Cesar

Thanks so much for being so friendly, and for sharing your beautiful talent with others, as a matter of fact I am going to go and put your c.d. on right now, I can see that performing is your passion, and it comes through in your music.
Wendy

You are not only a very talented and amazing singer, but one of the most genuine individuals I have ever encountered. You gave me a hug without even knowing who I was, ( just that I was sitting at the crazy table with your biggest fans.) I love my CD so much. I play it day and night as it is in my kitchen CD player. I wake up to your incredible voice and to tell you the truth, I have changed my mind five times over as to my favorite song. I think you understand my dilemma as you two can't pick the song either !!!!!!!
I so look forward to seeing you again,
Monique, Orange County

. . . . You have a real talent, a unique style and a beautiful spirit - and people see that - don't be afraid to project your heart when you perform - You will bless many people and it will come back to you in the form of wonderful opportunities. ~ Mark S. (Las Vegas, NV)

. . . . . .Marina is an extremely talented artist, who is incredibly versatile. Her music demonstrates her ability to both write and perform songs that have a large appeal. At first glance, you may think that this artist is just another keyboard player, but after hearing Marina perform, you will know that you have just heard something wonderful and unique. ~ Kevin Brakenhoff (Springfield, IL)

. . . . . With so many styles of music mirroring each other, Marina's sound is fresh, unique, dramatic and moving. Hearing her and the band is a memorable experience. Being a music enthusiast I liked it after listening to the first CD ONE TIME! ~ Yulonda R. Lanich (Springfield, IL)

. . . . . Marina should have a permanent place in any CD collection. One of the best and most talented new vocalists and songwriters to come along in years, her music and lyrics are a powerful blend of melody and emotion. Add to that a wonderful voice (and very sexy Russian accent) and you have a truly winning combination. There are no weak points on this CD. Each song is riveting and each portrays an enjoyable exploration that Marina makes of her music and, I think, of herself. :-) ~ Erik Stultz - Springfield, IL

. . . . . guess what? I was in line at Eagles food store a couple days ago when I overheard two young guys (early twenties) talking about liking a couple songs of yours. After mentioning to them that I saw you in an actual performance out at that benefit party, they seemed to be amazed that I actually saw you in person after hearing them praise you ... Someday I can say, I heard her when she played a benefit I attended. I wish you the best ~ Danny Hicks (Springfield, IL)

. . . . . I really, really like your music, your stories, your very special and emotional singing and how you express yourself in your music. ~ Nicholas mp3.com/soulmachine (Sweden)

. . . . . I look forward to seeing you perform again... you've got a great sound that can only take you higher... ~ Andy Cramer (Springfield, IL)

. . . . . I sat for almost two hours totally absorbed in each word and note as they flowed from either Marina, her piano, guitar or band. ~ Kristy DeWall (Bloomington, IL)

..... Cool CD you've got there. Very emotional, very "on the brink". I like that. ~ Derek from CD Baby

. . . .You're going to Wow them. You are so talented and very attractive. A winning combination. ~ Ray Nalepa (Colorado, USA)

. . . . Well....I'm glad I went to border's tonight. Unfortunately, for me, I missed most of your performance, but I must say, your voice and the lyrics of your songs will never be forgotten. And, in the future when I'm at home, work or cruising down the highway, playing your CD will take me back to this night when your music touched my soul. ~ Chris Urmeneta (Tulsa, Oklahoma)

. . . . I read your biography. Sound like a great adventure movie. Your life story is impressive! But what really struck me is such you're a nice and approachable person with a quick smile. You have a great future. You've only just begun!
~ Danny Nicholas (Glendale, CA)

. . . . thank you so much for inviting me to your beautiful website. What I found was really something. You must have heard this maybe a thousand times, but you are very talented woman. ~ Jaako (Finland)

them into your shows, too! That's gonna be our mission. ~ Dirk from SunsetStripRadio.com, Los Angeles, CA

. . . . I really liked your new song "Falling" (I'm not sure if this is the correct name though), it was the best. First I thought I've heard it already somewhere, and this is a good sign. Have you heard of the story that when Paul McCartney wrote "Yesterday" and sang it to the rest of the Beatles, they all said something like, "Hey, we've heard that song already somewhere"? ~ Julia K., Los Angeles, CA

. . . . . I've been listening to your cd everyday... It's very inspirational!! I'm passing in on to alot of my friends..You have to let me know where and when you'll be performing next... I want to bring some of my friends to hear you..I never have bought a CD from someone I've heard in a club..but you were exceptional!!! ~ Suzy, Sherman Oaks, CA

. . . . You were great! The choruses really stood out on the songs you played, and your voice sounded amazing. Hope you're getting some good record company response. ~ Rob, Los Angeles, CA

. . . . Over the years my interest in contemporary music has been honed and cultivated by listening to mainstream record labels played on the local airwaves. Until one Christmas season over a year ago when a friend who owned a coffee shop in Glendale, invited me to listen to an eclectic group of emerging artists promoting their songs by doing their rounds of local coffee shops, clubs and restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area. After a cup of coffee at Patrick's Cafe in Glendale or a savory Chinese dinner at Genghis Cohen on the Westside, you can listen to original compositions of these very talented artists gratis et amore. Their creations rival that of top mainstream artists and if listened to by a wider audience, will likely get equal acclaim. One of these emerging artists is a young and strikingly beautiful girl named Marina V., a Russian emigre who has immersed herself in the culture, language and arts of America since her early teens as an exchange student to this country. Listening to her songs stirs a whole gamut of emotions. They are melancholy, passionate, sentimental and sometimes angelic as if emerging from some secred place. Her style has been characterized as a cross of Tori Amos, Jewel and Paul McCartney but I also hear a hint of Shania Twain. Her voice, like Celine Dion, whose mother tongue is French, also evokes a folksy warmth by her very slight Russian tone. She is also multi-talented because she not only sings but plays the piano and keyboards like Burt Bacharach. I do not profess to be an expert or someone who has specially keen ears for music. I am an ordinary guy who simply loves beautiful music. Marina's songs captivate me. If they do to me, then so to a lot of ordinary mortals. Isn't that an apt and fitting place to get her accolades? ~ Danny Nicolas Glendale, California

. . . . . Just wanted to let you know, I have been down to Phoenix twice since getting your cd's. Listened to them the entire trip!!! Great driving music. Otherwise, hope you are well and success finds you quickly. ~ Jim A., Las Vegas, Nevada

. . . . . . I love the CD. It is absolutely fabulous. It kinda sucks that you play way out in California. I'd like to see one of your shows. ~ Michele W., Michigan

. . . . . I just wanted to say that I really did enjoy your performance at Borders. You have a beautiful voice and powerful songs. I wish that I could have purchased a CD but unfortunately I am a "starving student" with money for only the necessities. Please keep me posted on the next time that you will be in Las Vegas. I would love to see you perform again. ~ Sara, Las Vegas

. . . . . I have to inform you that, after watching your concerts twice, your performance have re-ignited my music bugs in me. I started playing the guitars again! (A Tele and a J-Bass) I have not done so for 10 years already... So. THANKS!!! :) ~ Alex, Glendale, CA

. . . . . . I am, perhaps, a discriminating listener, and I think you are very, very talented. I look forward to telling one of my undergraduate students (a talented young Russian piano major on scholarship) of your work. ~ Gary, Las Vegas

. . . . . . i was more intimidated because of your talent.. you are a really amazing artist.. im sure you are told that all the time.. but you really touched something in me.. i was really impressed.. well enough butt kissing for now.. when are you going to be back around here?~ Clark, Las Vegas

. . . . . The first time I saw you was at Patrick's cafe in Glendale, Ca. You were performing that night and I thought you were great.  I just want to commend you on the hard work and dedication you have been putting into your career.  You are truly an inspiration, at least to me and I am sure to many others.   You have a wonderful voice and a great talent so please continue pursuing your dream and I know one day you will really see your name in lights.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get acquainted with you and hear your beautiful voice.   Sincerely, Diana S., Glendale, CA

. . . . . I have to say your music has really made an impression on me. Your melodies, lyrics and production sound are just perfect for what I like to listen to. I know you are going to be a household name one of these days! ~ Jane, UK

. . . . .  I found you by looking at a website for independent music. Then I checked your site and heard samples of the new CD, and decided I had to have it. Your voice has a mystique but also a familiar quality that wraps around me. The piano riff in Something of my Own is mesmerizing. Maybe you should post more sound samples of the earlier cd - the song I heard sounded quite good (When I Need You Most). ~ Chris, San Francisco

. . . . . Recieved my CD! It's awesome...I love it. You must be very proud of such a great accomplishment! I can't really tell you my favorite, it's too hard to choose. That's the way it goes is such a fun song...reminds me of charlie brown. You saved yourself is so true! Ocean takes me away... On this christmas night is so beautiful, it makes a tear come! And thank you for adding Taet Sneg, i love to hear you sing in your native tongue. ~ Scott Z., Nebraska

. . . . . You are so absolutly alluring,You have another fan. ~ Jimi E., Orange county

. . . . . . Thank You Very Much For The Good Music.I Do Wish To See You Again.I've Been Listening To Your Cd Almost Everyday. ~ Noah, Montclair, CA

. . . . . . thank you for performing so beautifully and with such a positive approach. I have had the opportunity to listen to both CDs.  You are incredibly talented and have everything a person needs for success (when you smile when you sing so soulfully, you absolutely made my heart skip many beats - I'm sure I'm not alone in this).  I hope that the right person hears you in person, as he/she will sign you to a contract on the spot: you're that good. A legendary baseball executive once said that "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity."  With your outstanding musical talents and charisma, you have all of the preparation needed.  Keep believing in yourself and keep working diligently: the opportunity (or opportunities) will arise and the "lucky break" will be yours.  This will not be luck by any means, but instead the result of your talents, diligence, and faith. ~ Gary S., Pasadena, CA

. . . . . . Besides the fact that you have a beautiful name that compliments your looks, let me tell you that I dont regret a bit having bought your CD. I wish you the best of luck in your up and coming events and hope that you can become one of the greatest Female Singers that ever walked this earth. Even if we dont talk anymore, rest assure that at the pace that you are going, you one day will come home with one or perhaps more grammys. Hope to see you around Chino some time soon, I enjoyed every piece you played. ~ Abner E., Chino, CA

. . . . . . it was a pleasure to see you perform. The only thing that outshines your beauty is your incredible talent. I hope to see you perform again sometime soon. Take care..and much respect ~ Steve S., Pasadena, CA

. . . . . . I meant every word I wrote in your guestbook. I was inspired by your music and I'm so glad I went that night... I came home and listened to your cd's and loved them, though. The Russian song at the end of the first cd is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent. I hope to see you perform again soon. ~ Jennifer, Pasadena, CA

. . . . I like you to know that I did have a hell of a good time listening to you last night! Wished it was only you so I could have listened to more of your songs. (But I'm getting your new CD to quench that thirst!) It is truly refreshing to hear you again after over a year since I first saw you and heard your songs at Patrick's Cafe in Glendale. Your voice is truly captivating, your style is unique and the words in your songs are full of love and passion. You are truly wonderful and it is only a matter of a short time before you get there. ~ Danny, Glendale, CA

. . . . . An amazing talent... both lyrically and musically. - David, Hollywood, CA

. . . . . Marina V's music has kind of a beautiful haunting quality about it that's inspiring. It's absolutely wonderful to write or paint to. ~ El., Hollywood, CA
